For me, music has always been about one thing: improvising - Expressing myself through various instruments. That is what music means to me, and creating something, writing something has always been the natural lovechild of my enconters with instruments. Growing up in Gothenburg, Sweden, I played in lots of bands, playing different types of music. What's significant though, is that I've always kept coming back to alternative and rock music as my foundation. I've been going back and forth between music based on electric-, electronic- and acoustic instruments, and I'm the happiest when I can use them all as compliments to each other in my music.

I do not worry much about genres, and for the sake of creativity those kinds of barriers I can certainly do without. Everything influences me in different ways and to different degrees, I don't feel the need to put a name on it. Hopefully, the listener will find that the characteristics of Anders Chriss shine through anyhow. It's like the old Taoist's say: the moment you put a name on something, you've limited it to what that word implies, and it's no longer open for interpretation. So basically; if it feels good and it sounds good - then it's good! And I tend to leave it at that.

The better part of the last decade I've spent in China; both as a resident musician and touring mainland China and Taiwan with my own projects. Currently I'm back in Gothenburg, Sweden; getting ready to release the the new album in spring 2010.
